HOW TO SIGN UP FOR A PROGRAM :
1. An updated Annual Registration & Release Form must be on file for all program participants.
2. You may sign up online via MyActiveCenter.com, at the front desk, or by calling us to register.
3. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Preference will be given to Ellington residents.
4. All fees are listed with each program. Make-up classes are not permitted, unless the Senior Center cancels the program. See Administrative Secretary for payment.
Note: Programs, fees, dates, times, instructors, and VPL's are subject to change. Remember to check back regularly as new classes and programs will be added to the calendar over the course of the year.

2 hour class: $18 - Class limit 18. Minimum 6.
4 hour class: $35 - Class size limit 15. Minimum 6.

Looking for a nice activity that can bring you satisfaction, provide congenial interaction with peers while exercising your brain?
Join this group on Monday mornings at the Hall Memorial Library and play chess with the Ellington Chess Mates. You don’t need to be an expert player to join in the fellowship. You don’t even have to know how to play the game. Instruction is provided for those who are beginning to explore the world of chess.

Beginner Tai Chi for Balance
The focus of this Sun style of Tai Chi is on slow, smooth, continuous movements. Practice can be done in a chair or standing. Attendance at all sessions is highly recommended as each form builds on the next. No walk-ins.

This class trains the entire body. Using light weights and bands, and your own body weight, the instructor will accommodate your unique fitness goals. Please bring your own light weights and bands. This class is for all levels of fitness. Exercises will be standing and in chairs.

Cost: $5 Annually
Members practice weekly from September through May and participate in many events for the community including Winterfest, Spring Musicale and more. If you enjoy singing in a group and brightening spirits this group is for you.

Happy Wanderers Hiking
April-October we will be hiking local trails on select mornings, weather permitting. Beginner and experienced hikers are welcome. We do require that all participants are members of the Senior Center and have completed the required membership forms prior to any group hike. We also require participants to register with Sam Baer, Assistant Director, for each hike.

Steve Clapp, Elderly Outreach Social Worker, will be at the Senior Center every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Feel free to stop by to introduce yourself or ask any questions.
During non-Senior Center office hours, you may contact the Human Services Office at 860-870-3128. Their office is located at 31 Arbor Way.
Footcare By Nurses
We have partnered with Footcare by Nurses to provide footcare services on a monthly basis. Call us for an appointment: 860-870-3133. Cost is $45 for 30 minutes. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted and paid at the time of your appointment to the provider. See monthly calendar for dates and times. Appointment is required - no walk ins.

We are fortunate to have several volunteers at the Ellington Senior Center who help make programs possible, both hands-on and behind the scenes. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways, including Volunteer Program Leaders (V.P.L.'s), Receptionists, Kitchen Volunteers and Ambassadors.
