History for Fun: Vincent Van Gogh

"Starry, Starry, Night" - Presented by Joe Ouellette
Thursday, September 30, 1:00 pm

My first introduction to Vincent Van Gogh was through the well known song by Don Mclean when he sings about “Vincent” and his trials throughout his brief and tragic existence.  Although his life was short, he failed at multiple jobs and then produced some of his most famous paintings while in a mental asylum. Did he really cut off his own ear? Was he married and did he have children? Was his death a suicide?  What is so special about his paintings? Let’s find out in the newest twist to “History for Fun” with this new adventure into the world of art.
